Combining Neural Network with Genetic Algorithm for prediction of S4 Parameter using GPS measurement

The ionospheric plasma bubbles cause unpredictable changes in the ionospheric electron density. These variations in the ionospheric layer can cause a phenomenon known as the ionospheric scintillation. Ionospheric scintillation could affect the phase and amplitude of the radio signals traveling through this medium. This phenomenon occurs frequently around the magnetic equator and in low latitu...

The Lorenz Attractor Exists

We prove that the Lorenz equations support a strange attractor, as conjectured by Ed-ward Lorenz in 1963. We also prove that the attractor is robust, i.e., it persists under small perturbations of the coeecients in the underlying diierential equations. The proof is based on a combination of normal form theory and rigorous numerical computations.

Driver Action Prediction Using Deep (Bidirectional) Recurrent Neural Network

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) can be significantly improved with effective driver action prediction (DAP). Predicting driver actions early and accurately can help mitigate the effects of potentially unsafe driving behaviors and avoid possible accidents. In this paper, we formulate driver action prediction as a timeseries anomaly prediction problem. While the anomaly (driver actions ...

Deep neural network bottleneck features for generalized variable parameter HMMs

Recently deep neural networks (DNNs) have become increasingly popular for acoustic modelling in automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems. As the bottleneck features they produce are inherently discriminative and contain rich hidden factors that influence the surface acoustic realization, the standard approach is to augment the conventional acoustic features with the bottleneck features in a t...
